This bill allows individuals who pay their speeding ticket fine and associated costs without appearing in court to also enroll in an approved online driver education course, and if they successfully complete it within 90 days of their conviction, the points associated with that speeding offense will be removed from their driving record, with a maximum of five points eligible for removal. The bill also mandates that providers of these approved courses must submit certificates of completion to the department's website within 30 days of a student finishing the course and must inform students about the process for having points removed from their record.
