The bill maintains the additional one-dollar annual fee for these plates, with the funds continuing to be distributed to the Alabama Joint Fire Council for the maintenance of the Alabama Firefighter Memorial and the Firefighter Peer Support Program. Furthermore, it introduces a penalty for falsely obtaining or certifying someone for these plates, classifying it as a Class C misdemeanor, and sets an effective date of January 1, 2027.
