AI Summary

This bill modifies procedures related to eminent domain, which is the government's power to take private property for public use, typically with just compensation. It requires circuit court clerks to disburse any awarded compensation and accrued interest within seven business days after an order is entered in a condemnation proceeding or after the funds are received, whichever is later, unless the order specifies otherwise. The bill also allows legal counsel involved in condemnation cases to request and receive a copy of the jury panel to be used for a trial at least ten business days beforehand, with the panel containing specific information about potential jurors. Furthermore, it mandates that an authorized condemnor, such as a government agency or entity with the power of eminent domain, must file a "Notice of Recording of Certificate" with the clerk on the same day a certificate is recorded in the land records, and the clerk will assign a single case number for all related filings. Finally, the bill removes a $25,000 cap on relocation payments for reestablishing displaced farms, nonprofit organizations, or small businesses.
