This bill establishes a Community Land Trusts Study Committee composed of members appointed by legislative leaders, including a community land trust practitioner and a representative from a higher education institution, tasked with investigating the economic and developmental obstacles to creating community land trusts and proposing solutions. The committee will elect its own leadership, and its members will not be reimbursed for expenses. By December 31, 2026, the committee must submit a report detailing its findings and recommendations to the Governor, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, with a copy provided to the Secretary of State, and this section will be repealed on June 20, 2027.
