AI Summary

This bill reclassifies certain catfish caught in the Mississippi River as "game fish," meaning they will be subject to specific fishing regulations. The Mississippi Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, through the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, will be responsible for creating these rules, which must include reasonable limits on how many fish can be caught daily and their minimum size. Importantly, no person will be allowed to catch more than one catfish longer than 34 inches from the Mississippi River per day. This change specifically applies to catfish in the Mississippi River and does not affect "farm-raised catfish."
