This bill authorizes the State of Mississippi to issue general obligation bonds, which are essentially loans backed by the state's full faith and credit, to fund specific projects for the City of Indianola and the Sunflower County Consolidated School District. For the City of Indianola, up to $350,000 in bonds can be issued to improve an access road at the Indianola Airport and Industrial Park. For the Sunflower County Consolidated School District, up to $150,000 in bonds can be issued to support its "Leader in Me Program," which aims to promote workforce development. The State Bond Commission, a group responsible for issuing state bonds, will oversee the sale and management of these bonds, with proceeds going into separate special funds for each project. Any remaining funds after project completion will be used to pay off the bonds. The bonds will mature within 25 years and cannot be issued after July 1, 2030. This act takes effect on July 1, 2026.
