It also outlines procedures for pharmacies to avoid penalties if they fail to meet stocking requirements by promptly ordering replacements or requesting increased allotments from wholesale drug distributors, and mandates that wholesale drug distributors report any instances where they deny or delay buprenorphine orders from retail pharmacies, or deny requests to increase a pharmacy's buprenorphine allotment. The bill further requires the state's Department of Health to analyze this data and publish a biannual report on buprenorphine access, while also establishing penalties for both pharmacies and wholesale drug distributors that violate these provisions, and includes an appropriation of $1.5 million to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates for buprenorphine prescriptions.
