Originally established in 1993 as the Augusta Regional Clinic to honor a local pharmacist, it initially offered primary care but transitioned in 2020 to focus solely on oral health. The clinic serves Medicaid members and uninsured low-income individuals with a volunteer staff, handling approximately 6,000 patients annually, including 2,000 children, through 13,000 appointments, and also runs a school program offering free preventative dental care to 1,200 children. Notably, in 2024, it became the first charitable clinic in Virginia accredited as a Center for Inclusive Dentistry by the Virginia Department of Health, recognizing its specialized protocols for treating patients with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions in a safe and dignified manner. The resolution expresses the admiration of the House of Delegates for the clinic's significant contributions to those in need.
