This bill allows the town of Tiverton to require two parking spaces for each studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom housing unit designated as low- or moderate-income housing, which refers to housing affordable to households earning a certain percentage of the area median income. This requirement can be imposed if Tiverton determines that there is limited or no local public transportation or readily available off-street parking near these affordable housing units, and the act will become law immediately upon its approval.
