AI Summary

This bill requires courts or youth court judges to send a copy of a judgment to the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) upon a criminal conviction or adjudication of a child, and clarifies language regarding the continuing physical or sexual abuse or felonious neglect of a child. It also allows courts to place a parent or guardian on the MDCPS's state central registry, which is a confidential list of individuals found to be "substantiated perpetrators" of abuse or neglect, if they are convicted of a crime outlined in the bill and meet the definition of a substantiated perpetrator. This means that if a parent or guardian is convicted of certain crimes related to child abuse or neglect, and the court determines they are responsible for the harm, their name can be added to this registry, which is maintained by the MDCPS to track cases of child abuse and neglect.
