This new representative will be allowed to participate in all Board meetings and executive sessions, with the exception of matters concerning collective bargaining negotiations or personnel issues that could create a conflict of interest, ensuring that the Board has direct input from those who implement educational policies in classrooms. The bill also specifies that this teacher representative will serve a two-year term and may be reappointed for one additional consecutive term, and it is set to take effect on July 1, 3000.
