AI Summary

This bill requires the Department of the Attorney General to create a Human Trafficking Awareness Training Program to educate workers in the "transient accommodations sector," which refers to places like hotels and other short-term lodging. Employers in this sector, or third-party contractors who supply workers to them, must periodically provide this training to their employees and contract workers, keep records of who has been trained, post signs about human trafficking awareness, and develop policies for reporting suspected cases. The bill defines "transient accommodations employer" as an entity that owns or operates such accommodations and employs staff or uses contract workers, and "transient accommodations third-party contractor" as a company that provides these contract workers. Penalties will be established for violations, and the Department of Law Enforcement will create rules to implement these requirements, with the law taking effect on July 1, 3000.
