This bill appropriates $101 from South Dakota's general fund, which is the state's main operating budget, for the purpose of economic development prosperity. The state will be responsible for approving any expenses related to this appropriation, and the state auditor will issue warrants, which are essentially checks, to pay for these authorized expenditures. Any money from this appropriation that is not legally spent or committed by a certain deadline will be returned to the state treasury, following the procedures outlined in chapter 4-8 of state law. This Act will officially become effective on June 30, 2026.
