This bill establishes the legislative perimenopause and menopause task force, comprised of various healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and certified nurse midwives, along with representatives from hospitals, health plans, insurance, community colleges, universities, community health centers, tribal health systems, and behavioral health practices, all appointed by legislative leaders and the governor. The task force will identify ways to improve the treatment and education of women experiencing perimenopause and menopause, review existing educational standards, and examine how healthcare providers might be compensated for related care, with the goal of developing recommendations for educational institutions and licensing boards. The task force is required to report its findings to the governor and legislative leadership by December 31, 2027, and December 31, 2028, and will be repealed on June 30, 2029.
