This bill appropriates $3,000,000 for fiscal year 2026-2027 to the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division of the Department of Health to contract with community-based organizations for a behavioral health complex patient model, which is a program designed to provide integrated care for adults with co-occurring substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and chronic physical health conditions, recognizing that these individuals often face significant challenges and fragmented services. The Department of Health is also required to submit a report to the Legislature by early 2027 detailing how the funds were spent, which providers received funding, the number of people served and the services provided, any measurable outcomes, and any proposed legislative changes. This Act will take effect on July 1, 2026.
