This bill amends existing Arizona law to expand the uses of the Advanced Air Mobility Fund, which is a state fund administered by the State Treasurer for transportation projects. The fund, which receives legislative appropriations and private donations, will now also be used to purchase advanced air mobility vehicles, which are aircraft capable of carrying passengers or cargo, specifically for border security purposes, with priority given to counties along Arizona's international border. Previously, the fund was primarily for purchasing these vehicles for testing and demonstration and for constructing "vertiports," which are landing and takeoff areas for these types of aircraft.
