This bill establishes the Dyslexia Screening Pilot Program, a four-year initiative designed to provide dyslexia resources to school districts and charter schools and to develop a dyslexia and reading disorder screener at the University of Utah. Participating schools must either allocate funds for approved screeners or use the free screener developed by the University of Utah. The Dyslexia Screening Pilot Program is scheduled to be repealed on July 1, 2030, and the bill includes an appropriation of $1.5 million for its implementation in fiscal year 2027.
