This bill allows certain healthcare professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice registered nurses (nurses with advanced training and prescribing authority), chiropractors, and licensed nurses, to complete health assessments for children under 10 enrolled in or under 16 residing at day care facilities in Kansas. These facilities must keep these completed health assessments on file, which will include the results of the assessment and a medical history provided by the child's parent or legal guardian. Additionally, day care providers must review each child's medical history with their parents or guardians at least once every 12 months. The bill defines "advanced practice registered nurse," "chiropractor," "day care facility," "nurse," "physician," and "physician assistant" for the purposes of this legislation.
