This bill amends the requirements for obtaining a veterinary license in Utah, specifically changing the supervised practice experience needed. Previously, applicants needed to have practiced under a licensed veterinarian in the state for at least six months, or have equivalent experience in investigational, educational, or sanitary control work, or have practiced as a licensed veterinarian outside Utah for at least six months, or have practiced while employed by the government for at least six months. This bill changes these requirements to a minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised practice or equivalent experience, regardless of whether it's within Utah, outside Utah, or through government employment. The bill also specifies an effective date of May 6, 2026.
