This bill allows nonprofit corporations formed by regional housing authorities to enter into intergovernmental support agreements with the United States Department of Defense and its service branches, as permitted by federal law (specifically 10 U.S.C.). These agreements can involve various property-related activities, such as leasing, developing, constructing, renovating, maintaining, repairing, or managing property, and these activities can occur both inside and outside of New Mexico. Importantly, any proceeds generated from these agreements must be used to support the affordable housing goals of the regional housing authority that established the nonprofit corporation.
