This bill appropriates funds for the operations, maintenance, and support of the Legislative Branch of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the fiscal years beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027, and July 1, 2027, and ending June 30, 2028. * **General Assembly:** $23,908,000 from the General Fund and $75,000 from Restricted Funds for fiscal year 2026-27, and $25,920,200 from the General Fund and $175,000 from Restricted Funds for fiscal year 2027-28. This includes funding for the Kentucky Legislative Ethics Commission. * **Legislative Research Commission:** $66,218,400 from the General Fund for fiscal year 2026-27 and $66,804,500 from the General Fund for fiscal year 2027-28. This includes $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026-2027 for a Judicial Branch salary and compensation study. * **Unexpended Balances:** Any unexpended balances from the previous fiscal year will not lapse and will carry forward to the next fiscal year. * **Legislative Branch Participation in Budget Reduction/Surplus Plans:** The Legislative Branch will participate in budget reduction or surplus expenditure plans in accordance with KRS Chapter 48, with exemptions for obligations essential to its constitutional duties.
