This bill, titled the National Cemetery Administration Annual Report Act of 2026, mandates that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs must submit an annual report to Congress detailing the activities of the National Cemetery Administration (NCA), which is responsible for managing national cemeteries for veterans. This report, to be submitted within one year of the bill's enactment and annually thereafter, will include comprehensive data on interments, broken down by cemetery, eligibility category, and type of remains (casketed or cremated), as well as an assessment of customer satisfaction. It will also feature maps of all NCA-controlled cemeteries and state or tribal veterans' cemeteries receiving federal grants, along with descriptions of burial options at national cemeteries. The report will further detail the number of veterans interred in state or tribal cemeteries, the number of Presidential memorial certificates, headstones, markers, and medallions provided, and summaries of completed and planned construction projects at national cemeteries. Additionally, it will track interments of unclaimed veteran remains and provide detailed information on grants awarded to state and tribal veterans' cemeteries, including recipient, amount, and purpose. Finally, the Secretary may include any other relevant information deemed appropriate, and all reports will be made publicly available online in digital format.
