This bill establishes a pay equity salary adjustment and increase for all employees of the Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation, recognizing the extreme difficulty the division faces in recruiting and retaining staff. Specifically, starting July 1, 2026, full-time equivalent employees who are non-uniform administrative staff and have at least three years of continuous employment will receive a three percent salary increase. New hires or those with less than three years of service will receive the same three percent increase after they accumulate three years of continuous employment, calculated based on their salary at that point. Funding for these pay raises will come from the general revenue appropriations to the Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The bill also states that if an employee's salary exceeds the maximum for their pay grade after this increase, they will still receive the raise and be paid above the pay grade maximum. This section is intended to be rehabilitative and does not create any private cause of action.
