This resolution congratulates the Southampton Intermediate School students for winning first place in Cornell University's New York Agriculture in the Classroom Mac and Cheese Challenge, a statewide competition where they competed as the "Mac Island Mariners" and impressed judges with their innovative mac and cheese chicken pot pie, demonstrating culinary skill, originality, and knowledge of agriculture and nutrition. The students also developed a marketing component, created a slogan, and designed a T-shirt reflecting their local heritage, and deepened their understanding of food systems through farm visits and nutrition workshops, all under the guidance of dedicated educators.
