This bill establishes the "State House Flag Program," which will be managed by the Building Management office within the State House Joint Management Commission, an entity responsible for the State House. Under this program, a New Jersey State flag can be flown atop the State House upon the request of a member of the Legislature, with the specific procedures for flying the flag to be determined by the Building Management office. For each flag flown, a certificate will be created detailing the date it was flown and the individual, group, or organization it was for, and both the flag and certificate will be mailed to the designated recipient. Additionally, the Director of Public Information of the Office of Legislative Services, an office that provides information and services to the Legislature and the public, will be responsible for informing the Legislature and the public about this new program. The bill also appropriates funds from the General Fund to cover the costs of implementing these provisions.
