This bill allows local election authorities, which are the government bodies responsible for administering elections in a specific area, to publish images of voted ballots on their websites. This includes the "cast vote record" (CVR), which is an electronic record of a voter's choices made on electronic voting machines or scanners. However, before publishing, any personally identifiable information that could reveal who a voter is must be removed or "redacted" from both the ballot image and the CVR. The bill also specifies that these ballot images and CVRs can be kept for the same amount of time as other election records.
