This bill modifies how local election officials, referred to as the "local board," inform the public about elections and voter registration deadlines. It requires the local board to publish early voting dates, hours, and locations at least twice in a local newspaper and continuously on the municipality's website for the entire early voting period. For voter registration deadlines, the bill allows the local board to replace newspaper advertisements with a prominent notice on the municipality's website for at least ten consecutive days leading up to the deadline. Additionally, local ballot questions must be published on the municipality's website for 25 consecutive days, and newspaper advertisements for these questions can be replaced by a mailing to every household in the election jurisdiction. The bill also mandates that website notices comply with accessibility guidelines, specifically Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA, and takes effect immediately upon passage.
