AI Summary

This bill mandates that all employers in the state must implement domestic violence policies and safety protocols developed by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOLWD). The Commissioner of DOLWD, in collaboration with the Advisory Council on Domestic Violence, will create these guidelines, ensuring they are culturally sensitive and address how workplaces should respond to domestic violence. These policies will cover essential areas such as employee training on domestic violence, procedures for assisting employees affected by it, educating staff on how to intervene as bystanders, and providing information about resources for victims. The DOLWD will make these policies publicly available on its website. Employers will have one year from the bill's enactment to adopt these written policies and must then share them with all employees at least once a year.
