AI Summary

This bill expands eligibility for property tax exemptions for Wyoming residents who are veterans or active military members by reducing the required residency period from three years to one year. It now includes honorably discharged veterans who served at least 18 consecutive months in the U.S. armed forces or the Wyoming National Guard, as well as active or reserve members of the Wyoming National Guard or U.S. armed forces who are in good standing, which means they have completed a creditable year of service toward military retirement in the year before applying. The bill also defines "honorably discharged veteran" as someone whose separation papers show an honorable discharge or honorable military service. This exemption will apply starting with the tax year beginning January 1, 2026.
