This bill makes two key changes to Arizona law concerning unfair claims settlement practices and the practice of chiropractic. First, it amends Section 20-461 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, which outlines unfair claim settlement practices by insurers, by making minor grammatical corrections, changing "upon" to "on" in two instances and "which" to "that" in three instances, and clarifying that the prohibition against certain actions in subsection A, paragraph 17, does not prohibit the application of deductibles, coinsurance, or other cost-containment measures if they are applied equally to all types of physicians. Second, it amends Section 32-925 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, which defines the practice of chiropractic, to explicitly allow doctors of chiropractic to order referrals for diagnostic imaging and to perform venipuncture for blood collection as part of their diagnostic capabilities.
