This bill requires individuals who provide fishing guide services for payment to register annually with the Department of Game, Fish and Parks, with failure to do so being a Class 1 misdemeanor, meaning each client served without registration is a separate offense. To become a registered guide, an applicant must be at least twenty-one years old, pay a registration fee of fifty dollars for residents or two hundred fifty dollars for nonresidents, and agree to submit a report after each guided trip detailing the date, guide's information, client names and addresses, the body of water fished, and the species and number of fish caught. These fees are nonrefundable and will be used by the department to support fish restocking efforts in the waters from which fish were taken, with registrations valid until March 31st each year. The Game, Fish and Parks Commission can deny registration for misrepresentation on the application or suspend a guide's registration for failing to submit the required daily report or for misrepresenting information within that report.
