Bill Summary
This bill proposes to require providers of generative artificial intelligence systems to provide consumers with a tool that would determine whether content was created or altered by the provider’s system. This bill also proposes to require that providers of generative artificial intelligence systems give users of the system an option to add a watermark to media that was generated by artificial intelligence.
AI Summary
This bill requires companies that provide generative artificial intelligence (AI) systems, which are computer programs capable of creating new content like text, images, or audio, to offer consumers a way to check if content was made or changed by their AI. Additionally, these providers must give users the choice to add a digital marker, known as a watermark, to any media generated by their AI, making it clear that the content is AI-produced.
