Specifically, it adds new provisions requiring the agency handling the case to provide and pay for a disinterested interpreter or translator when a witness or party requires one, with the costs coming from the agency's operational budget. Additionally, if a party is successful in the contested case and incurred necessary expenses for interpreter or translator services that weren't covered by the agency, they may be able to recover those costs.
