For the 2026-27 school year and beyond, if a student is suspended, expelled, or moved to an alternative educational setting due to violent behavior or an act of school violence as defined by the district's discipline policy, their absence will not be counted against the school district's attendance or enrollment figures when determining accreditation status under the Missouri school improvement plan or its future iterations. This change aims to prevent these disciplinary actions from negatively impacting a school's accreditation by excluding these students from attendance calculations.
