This bill amends existing West Virginia law to require the Secretary of State to establish a system for verifying the physical address of registered voters, or to permit a third party to conduct such verification. This provision is added to a section of law that already outlines penalties for unlawful voter registration or rejection, as well as for individuals who knowingly register or attempt to register when not entitled to do so, or who declare an address that is not their legal residence. The purpose of this addition is to ensure that voter registration records accurately reflect a voter's true physical residence.
