This bill authorizes the town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County to lease certain parklands, described in detail in section three, to Tag Towers LLC for up to thirty years to install and operate a wireless communication tower, and also allows for the conveyance of an easement for access and utilities. This authorization is contingent upon Brookhaven dedicating an amount equal to or greater than the fair market value of the parklands being used for new parklands, recreational facilities, or capital improvements to existing ones. If the lands are no longer used for the tower, they will revert to parkland, requiring the removal of the tower and restoration of the property. Furthermore, if federal funds were used for these parklands, Brookhaven must comply with any federal requirements, including obtaining approval from the Secretary of the Interior to ensure any substituted lands are of equivalent value and usefulness.
