Specifically, it defines terms like "cultivated-protein food product" (lab-grown meat), "insect-protein food product," and "plant-protein food product," and establishes that these "manufactured-protein food products" are considered misbranded if their labels use terms suggesting they are made from meat or eggs without also including a clear and prominent disclosure stating they are not. Similarly, "fabricated-egg food products" that resemble egg products but are made from other organic materials must also clearly disclose their non-egg origin. These labeling requirements aim to prevent consumer confusion by ensuring transparency about the source of protein in these alternative food items.
