Bill Summary

Modifies provisions relating to criminal history background check requirements for alcohol and gaming licensing

AI Summary

This bill modifies existing laws to allow for criminal history background checks for individuals applying for certain alcohol and gaming licenses in Missouri. For alcohol-related licenses, including those for transporting, manufacturing, selling, or soliciting liquor, as well as for wine direct shippers, the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control may require applicants and owners (those with a 10% or greater financial interest) to submit fingerprints for state and federal criminal history checks. Similarly, the Missouri Gaming Commission may require fingerprint submissions for employees, officers, or directors of fantasy sports contest operators applying for a license. Furthermore, the commission may also require fingerprint submissions for individuals applying for retail or mobile sports wagering licenses, which involve in-person sports betting at excursion gambling boats or approved locations within designated sports districts, or online sports betting accessible to individuals physically in the state. In all these cases, fingerprints and fees are sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol for processing, and the results, including any criminal history information, are made available to the relevant licensing division or commission.
