This bill amends Arizona law to increase the monthly stipend provided to kinship foster care parents, who are individuals caring for a child removed from their home and placed with a relative or someone with a significant relationship to the child. Specifically, the bill mandates that the Department of Child Safety provide a monthly stipend of at least $400 per child from the end of 2026 through 2027, increasing to at least $500 per child from the end of 2027 through 2028, and then to at least $600 per child from the end of 2028 onwards.
