This bill modifies existing Arizona law regarding drug offenses on school grounds and the reporting of incidents. Specifically, it amends a law that defines "drug free school zones" and the penalties for drug-related crimes within them, by removing the requirement for school personnel to report violations to administrators and then to law enforcement, and also removes the penalty for failing to do so, while clarifying that school records can be provided to law enforcement upon written request from a magistrate. Additionally, the bill amends a law concerning school report cards by removing a reference to the now-removed reporting requirement for drug offenses and instead includes incidents requiring law enforcement contact under a different statute, and also makes minor wording changes related to student enrollment and the types of vehicles used for transportation.
