This bill requires courts to notify the New Mexico Medical Board (the "board") whenever a physician is named as a defendant in a medical malpractice lawsuit, and also when such a claim is dismissed or amended to remove the physician. It also extends the timeframe the board has to temporarily suspend or restrict a physician's license from fifteen to thirty days after the physician requests a hearing, and mandates that the board maintain and publicly post on its website a database of all malpractice claims, payments made on behalf of physicians, and any disciplinary actions taken against them, particularly for claims resulting in at least one million dollars in payments.
