AI Summary

This bill strengthens the enforcement of the Attendance for Success Act by requiring greater collaboration between schools and juvenile probation services to address chronic or excessive student absenteeism. Specifically, it mandates that when a child is subject to a delinquency complaint (a formal accusation of wrongdoing), a review of their school attendance must be included in the initial inquiry, and juvenile probation services must initiate or review interventions if the child is chronically or excessively absent. Furthermore, a children's court attorney is now required to start proceedings under the Family in Need of Court-Ordered Services Act for children who are chronically or excessively absent, and juvenile probation services will have immediate access to student attendance records to help enforce the Attendance for Success Act.
