This bill makes a technical correction to Arizona law regarding the transportation of groundwater to an initial active management area, which is a designated region for managing groundwater resources. Specifically, it amends section 45-557 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to change the spelling of "per cent" to "percent" when referring to the required percentages of Central Arizona Project (CAP) water entitlement that a city, town, or private water company must have the capacity to accept and have actually accepted or exchanged before they can use groundwater transported from another basin. The Central Arizona Project is a major water infrastructure system in Arizona. The bill clarifies these requirements without altering the underlying rules for when transported groundwater can be used for assured water supply purposes.
