AI Summary

This bill primarily aims to update the terminology used in Georgia law, replacing the term "chiropractor" with "chiropractic physician" to reflect a more modern and professional designation, while also allowing licensed chiropractic physicians to continue using the term "chiropractor" and protecting both terms. It also permits chiropractic physicians to jointly own professional corporations with medical physicians, expands the scope of practice for chiropractic physicians to include certain therapeutic procedures and modalities after specific training, and allows out-of-state licensed chiropractic physicians to practice temporarily in Georgia for specific sports or performing arts events under certain restrictions. Additionally, the bill makes conforming changes across various titles of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated to ensure consistent terminology and clarifies that chiropractic physicians cannot prescribe medicine, perform surgery, or practice obstetrics or osteopathy, nor can they perform invasive procedures like venipuncture or acupuncture unless specifically licensed to do so.
