This resolution designates February 2, 2026, as Future Farmers of America (FFA) Day at the Legislature, recognizing the organization's significant history and impact. The FFA, originally founded as the Future Farmers of Virginia in 1925 and officially established as the Future Farmers of America in 1928, has grown to include over one million members nationally, serving middle, high school, and college students interested in agriculture. The organization provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills and showcase their agricultural knowledge through competitions and hands-on learning, and it has evolved to be inclusive of all genders and backgrounds, officially changing its name to The National FFA Organization in 1988 to reflect this diversity. The resolution also directs the Clerk to send a copy of this designation to the West Virginia Farm Bureau organization.
