This bill amends existing Idaho law regarding reckless driving by expanding the definition of what constitutes reckless driving. Specifically, it adds two new scenarios to the existing definition: passing when a lane marking indicates a sight distance restriction, and driving a vehicle more than twenty miles per hour over the posted speed limit in an active school zone when children are present and visible, or in an active construction zone when workers are present and visible. The bill also declares an emergency and sets an effective date of July 1, 2026, meaning these changes will take effect on that date.
