The bill mandates that the Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, or State Treasurer, on a rotating basis, will be excused from attending these events. For such occasions, the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the state agency responsible for law enforcement and public safety, will arrange an off-site location for the excused elected official, who must remain there until the event concludes. This provision aims to ensure continuity of government by having a designated official absent from potentially high-risk gatherings.
