This bill, concerning the maintenance of pre-employment physical examination records for public safety personnel in the city of Peabody, allows for an affidavit to be submitted if an employer cannot locate or failed to maintain a complete record of a member's physical examination into service. This affidavit, which attests that the member underwent an examination and that it did not reveal any evidence of a disabling condition for which they are seeking Accidental Disability Retirement, will be considered substantial evidence that the member successfully completed the required pre-employment physical examination as mandated by specific sections of the law (Sections 94, 94A, and 94B). Accidental Disability Retirement is a benefit for public employees who become disabled due to an injury or illness sustained in the line of duty.
