Furthermore, the Department of Human Services and its employees or agents are protected from civil liability for any damages resulting from the disclosure or non-disclosure of information released in accordance with the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. These changes are applied to both the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code and the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act, aiming to balance public safety concerns with the privacy of individuals receiving mental health care.
