This bill amends the Environmental Protection Act to clarify the requirements for certain electric generating units (EGUs) and large greenhouse gas-emitting units (large GHG-emitting units) that use natural gas as fuel and are not publicly owned. The bill also defines "CO2e" as carbon dioxide equivalent emissions, which accounts for the global warming potential of various greenhouse gases, and "EGU" as a fossil fuel-fired power generation unit with a capacity over 25 megawatts that produces electricity for sale.
